Language as form / form as language : concrete poetry and graphic design
This dissertation examines the relationship between concrete poetry and graphic design through their shared interest in and applications of form and language. Concrete poetry uses language as form and graphic design gives form to language. Through a critical analysis of concrete poetry and its historical development, this research identifies key overlaps and divergences between the two fields.
